Let the trip begin.......

We were up bright and early - well actually dark and early to get to San Marcos to set off on our trip.  We settled into our seats that will be our "nests" for the next 15 days, Ron put the bus in gear and off we went.

Evelyn with harmonica
Our first day took us from San Marcos to Paris --- Texas that is.

Our first stop was at First Baptist Church in West, Texas.  This town has been literally "shaken to the core" recently when tragedy hit their town.  Our prayer is that the hope that is offered through the Magnolias in their Garden Gathering penetrated their hearts and gave them reason to smile.

One really bright spot came from Evelyn as she shared her story and her harmonica.  At 96 she was an inspiration to everyone.  Evelyn along with the rest of the Magnolias showed their joy in the Lord with every song.

The Steel Magnolias
The traffic was smooth as we made our way to Paris for our next stop.  We even took a few minutes for sight seeing -- namely the Eiffel Tower???  That's right!  There is an Eiffel Tower in Paris, Texas!

We were greeted warmly at Covenant Christian Church.  The Magnolias kept toes tapping as they again shared their faith through their music.  We have made some wonderful friends at their church tonight.
We look forward to tomorrow as we have new opportunities to share Jesus with those we meet.

God Bless!
