Day 6

What a day!!  When we left home never in our wildest imagination did the Magnolias ever think they would be part of a wedding, but they were.  More on that later! We left for the NQC at 7:30 this morning and got back around midnight and there was not one minute of "down" time.

The music this morning has been spectacular.  The Hoppers and Guy Penrod started the day off with a bang!  They sang some of our favorites and some new songs as well.  Next we saw a musical reunion of Gaither Vocal Band, Gatlin Brothers, Booth Brothers, and several more singers. Our seats were on row 4 right in front of the stage.  For 90 minutes we listened to some fabulous singing.  The harmony was amazing.  I had no idea that Larry Gatlin wrote so many songs that Christian groups sing.  Did you know that he and Bill Gaither are neighbors?  They get together and write songs. It was really interesting to see the interactions of all the guys on the stage.  Mark Lowery was as funny and goofy as ever.

Now for the wedding!  The Magnolias were getting ready to sing and the bride to be came up to them and said she and her fiancée had received permission to get married at four o'clock right where they were going to sing.  Debbie told her no problem that they could take a break for the wedding.  I think this couple was part of one of the singing groups and wanted their wedding to be with their friends.  It was a very impromptu occasion.  They had a bride and groom, best man and maid of honor and a minister.  The groom did have a CD but no player.  So your very own Magnolias became wedding coordinator, sound system specialist, and bridesmaids for the wedding.  You see the brides colors were purple and guess what color scarves the Magnolias had on.....you are right ...purple.  They matched perfectly.  The bride and groom were so moved by the help that they wanted them to be bridesmaids!  There were probably 200 guests (people in the food court) to the wedding!  It was a grand affair!  No cake but ....oh well.

After the wedding, the girls sang for about 45 more minutes.  It is fun to stand there and watch the expressions on the peoples faces and "overhear" the comments.  By the way, the comments were all very positive.

Ron went after the bus so the equipment could be loaded up and we were off to the evening concert.  We hurried to our seats with our sandwich in hand.  I told you there was no down time.  Each night the concert starts at 5:30 and ends around 11:00.

After the concert it was off to the bus.  While Ron dealt with the traffic we were able to share about the happenings of the day.  Tomorrow is going to be just as exciting.  However we probably will not have a wedding!

God Bless!
